Sapphire and Diamond Tsarina Necklace

Sapphire and Diamond Tsarina Necklace

Our alluring sapphire and diamond necklace is most likely Russian in origin and fit for a tsarina of any land. The necklace features alternating round and cartouche-shaped pendants lavished with vivid-blue sapphires and old mine-cut diamonds. Their drops are of alternating sapphire and diamonds of graduating size set à jour—open backed—for added sparkle. There are nineteen rose-cut diamonds, one hundred and two old mine-cut diamonds, and nine cushion, antique and mixed-cut natural sapphires.

Front and center is a succulent egg-shaped locket topped with a floral surmount and encrusted with eighty rose-cut and old-mine diamonds. An intricate combination of scallop forms, horizontal and vertical bands of diamonds centered on a pear-shaped mixed-cut sapphire of .85 carats makes for a regal pendant. Fittingly, the back of the detachable pendant is clear-cut crystal, the perfect spot to stash a lock of your lover’s hair.

A circular clasp, set with an additional claw-set diamond, makes for a lovely rear view. Following contemporary fashion, the necklace is designed to closely encircle the neck to better flaunt the décolleté.

Celestial, romantic and a tad majestic
