Belle Époque Cameo Pendant/Brooch

This breathtaking coral cameo is a superlative example of the era. Ornate and lavishly feminine, the piece is subtly restrained and balanced by its formal linear design.

Set in high relief, the brooch depicts the profile of a young woman in profile, her lush coiffure adorned with tiny blossoms.  The delicate angel skin coral flaunts the lively emeralds, the whiteness of the diamonds and the warm yellow gold.

The claw-set cameo is framed by a border of thirty-two square-set, single-cut diamonds. The oval diamond frame is perched atop an openwork geometric frame, further highlighted on each side by two diamonds and one emerald.

The elaborate surmount takes the form of looped bow bead set with thirty-one single-cut diamonds and crowned with a single round emerald in the center. A removable bale hangs from the bow and features two single-cut diamonds in 18k white gold.

Three dangling pear-shaped coral drops suspended from the bottom portion of the frame provide further embellishment. The original pin fitting is perfectly intact. Includes the antique presentation box.
